Tony is a freelance writer who lives on the South Coast of England with his wife Debbie.

He has worked in the IT Industry all his life, and has been writing on various sites for the last 10 years.

Tony has traveled extensively, both for business and leisure, and has lived in New Zealand and the USA as well as his native England.

He enjoys writing about many different topics, often writing about something that grabs him impulsively at the time.

Ancient History and Humor are just two diverse topics that he has a passion for, and he also likes to write about his travel experiences and to share his love of photography.

Tony would love to write a book one day, but so far the closest that he has come to finding a topic is an autobiography. He is not confident that there is a large enough audience for a 12 volume book entitled "I Only Wanted A Simple Life".

Hi poddys, thanks for the Stonehenge visit. Your dear other half has also been kind enough to send regards. I'm the same, never visit anything on my doorstep - unless I have friends or relations who are interested.
  • poddys Oct 16, 2013 @ 8:44 am
Thanks for the response Rob, we both really enjoyed your lens on Stonehenge, and it made us want to go there, maybe in the Spring or if the year that is ending decides to give us a nice day.

Hey Tony, I was looking back over the comments on my lens on Rational Religion, which has dropped off the end of the world lately, and found your comment on the end of the list.
I noticed that you have been in IT for a long time and we have that in common. I used to program in Basic Assembler Language for IBM mainframes. I started out working on Seymour Cray's machines for Control Data and actually worked on his forst parallel processor. Anyway, I ended up in software and designed some pretty big systems for the telephone industry.
Sorry to babble but I'm getting to the point of this note to you.
Have you ever had a solution dawn on you that constituted a design change which solved all of the problems inherent in a particular process? Well, that is what happened to me and my Rational Religion lens is the end result. I have drastically changed it since I first did it and would like to have you check it out and give me feedback.
I think it is the most important thing I've ever done in my life and it's like I'm standing here with a bag of diamonds and can't get anyone's attention. I suspect that is because the way people see existence is shrouded by blindspots they don't even know they have. And blindspots are not limited to other people, I could have them too. I'm sure I do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi - I've done some work on my London Seaside lens and given it a link to your Bournemouth lens. I have to admit I pressed the publish button by accident originally, then tried to keep it quiet . It was never supposed to be as rubbish as it was. I think it's OK now.

Re:the Lanch before 1973. If I was going to concerts before 1973, I was at a very tender age, but I have a big brother and he used to take me to things like that, so it's possible. Lindisfarne were still around in the latter part of the decade though. Thanks for your visits to my lenses by the way.
  • poddys Jun 15, 2012 @ 8:57 am
I was thinking that their heyday was 1970-72, it was in 72 that Genesis supported them on tour, and when Lindisfarne came on the crowd chanted that they wanted Genesis back (that was the Bournemouth concert which I didn't go to unfortunately).

All good memories, I saw some great bands at The Lanch.
